The EET program frequently uses PSpice in the labs for all Electronics courses, including Elements of EET. PSpice is a computer program that can accurately simulate the behavior of electronic circuits. Among its features are the abilities to rate values at any given point over a simulated time period, chart the values, and aid in the troubleshooting of circuit design. This software is now made by Cadence. The student version can be downloaded at http://www.pspice.com/ in the download section.

Also recommended for use in digital simulations is CircuitMaker, which has analog capabilities such as PSpice, but excels at its ease of use in digital circuit design and simulation. It has an extensive library of industry standard TTL integrated circuit components as well as standard analog components. Its abilities to step clock pulses and color code the logic states of nodes makes it a very valuable digital design tool for design projects and labs in Digital Systems courses. The student version can be downloaded at http://www.circuitmaker.com/ from the main page.
